Haoxiang Li has released on GitHub a menu bar, which subclasses UIView, and offers a nice range of options for customization. LightMenuBar uses protocols very effectively – if you are looking to learn more about how protocols work, take a look at the source code.
The first screenshot below is that of the demo app included within the project. The second screenshot includes a few customizations that I made to get a feel for how one can tweak the look and feel using only the optional methods in LightMenuBarDelegate.
The flexibility of LightMenuBar is nice, one feature that would be at the top of my list is support for Landscape mode, specifically, adjusting the menu to fit the screen when the device is rotated.
