About

The first post on iOS Developer Tips (originally iPhone Developer Tips) was in August of 2008, closely aligned with the release of first iPhone. iOSDevTips has had steady and continual growth over the years and has become a regular stopping place for iOS developers from around the world.

What You’ll Find Here

iOSDevTips is focused on all things iOS, from the developer perspective. This includes code examples, tips and tricks, Apple developer news, open source projects, tools and even a few Mac tips now and again.

The bulk of the content comes from my day-to-day travels and experiences designing, developing and debugging iOS applications. As of mid-2013 I began curating and sharing tips and tricks written by other experienced iOS developers.

More About Me

I’ve been involved in software development for over 20 years, with the past 13 years focused on mobile applications and developer tools.

I am the author of a best-selling mobile developer book, Core J2ME, which was written in 2000 and is still published in several foreign languages. I’ve also written extensively about software development for many publications, including O’Reilly, Dr. Dobbs, PC Magazine, Forum Nokia and IBM developerWorks, among others.

I’ve designed and developed over 30 iPhone applications, including three Star Wars applications for LucasFilms, all featured by Apple on the App Store. In addition, the app I wrote for rapper Snoop Dogg was featured on The Tonight Show in 2009.

I hope you enjoy reading iOSDevTips as much as I enjoy creating the content.
